Loc H. Pham, O.D.
Dr. Loc Pham began his career in Phoenix in
1997 when he trained at Maricopa County Hospital. There, he found a
patient base that he could help while making his career rewarding.
Once in practice, he worked in west Phoenix for a couple years seeing a
diverse population base which includes all ethnicities and age groups.
He quickly became fluent in Spanish to perform eye exams to immigrants who
do not speak English too comfortably. Over the past two years, Dr.
Pham had been practicing in Casa Grande, AZ helping out lower income
families and retirees. Dr. Pham has experience in treatment and
management of eye diseases. He has been involved in providing pre and
post op care for cataract, Lasik, and other eye surgeries.
Dr. Pham graduated from University of
California, Irvine with a degree in Biological Sciences in 1993. He
continued his quest for a rewarding career by graduating from Southern
California College of Optometry with his doctoral degree in 1998. Dr.
Pham was the Class of 1998 President and was honored by graduating first in
his class. Dr. Pham has always been involved in his profession through
his 11 year membership with the American Optometric Association. He is
also a member of the Arizona Optometric Association for the past 6 years.
Dr. Pham was a guest speaker on Radio Que Huong 1190 AM on December 12, 2004
to talk about the eye and answer radio phone calls.
Dr. Pham spends his time traveling back and
forth to California to visit his family. He is the youngest of 10
children. He has 13 nieces and nephews. When he is in town, he
likes to play sand volleyball. In 2001, Dr. Pham and his teammates won
the league championship in an adult volleyball league. Dr. Pham likes
to spend his quiet time at the library during his lunch hour to read up on
the world. He spends a few hours a week doing research on the
internet.
CHANCHAI KAROUNA, O.D
Dr. Chan Karouna has been in practice for
over 6 years. Dr. Karouna is experienced in seeing a wide range of
cases from his training in the Veteran's Administration in Las Vegas,
Phoenix Indian Health Services, and Laser Eye Center. Dr. Karouna has
also trained at The Optometric Center in Los Angeles helping lower income
families with the gift of sight.
Dr. Karouna went to school in southern
California. He did his undergraduate studies at University of
California, Riverside with a B.A. in Psychology. He obtained his
doctorate degree at Southern California College of Optometry in 1999.
His decision to come to Phoenix was because he wanted to practice with a
more personable touch. By joining Sun Valley Eye Care, Dr. Karouna is
able to practice in an environment that allows him to provide the highest
quality care that is custom tailored to the individual needs of his
patients. Dr. Karouna likes to take care of his patients like he takes
care of his family. That is why year after year, patients return to
see him. Dr. Karouna
is
recognized as one of the Top Optometrists in the United States by the
Consumer Research Council of America in 2004.
Dr. Karouna likes to spend his free time
playing the guitar. He enjoys fine dining and wine tasting. Dr.
Karouna loves hiking the outdoor trails around the valley. He is an
avid football fan with the Tennessee Titans as his favorite team. He
enjoys spending time in the kitchen cooking and hosting parties.
